Animation with robot animals?
There was an animation which I used to watch when I was younger
It was like animals changing to robots (they were in space or somethin like that)
there were like runnin and transformin to robots as i remember
it was between 1990-98 I guess

I think you might be talking about beast wars or it’s sequel series best machines.
Not 100% sure since you said sapce since most of the show is done on earth or the robot’s home planet.
I know this is pre-90’s but you may have been watching reruns. Check out Voltron as it had 5 lions which merged into one mega robot. It was mostly in space as well.
