Do You Think Some Internet Users Are Actually Robots Or Artificial Intelligence?
What if some of the trolls of message boards and chat rooms were just robots or artificial intelligence that could mimic humans very well. Wouldn’t that be crazy?

That would be crazy, because that would mean someone actually passed the Turing Test (which has never been done and likely won’t be done for many years)http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turing_test
Of course, I’m not counting “bots” that just spam message boards with ads and whatnot.
Back in the day when Yahoo Chat was a nice place, there was a microsoft-supporting bot named yazid 5000 who participated in discussions in the linux rooms.
I used to populate rooms with a couple of bots on IRC who were there to protect from exploits, by kicking/banning users who tried to flood or spam the room. It amused me to tie them in to some AI programs, some of which were obvious, and some of which could tell you that a play lasted two hours and you called a 16-year old girl a teenager. I even gave one a map with multiple levels and various routes and had it comment on the environment in a role-playing game (oh yes, the map was drawn on a moebius strip). And this was in like, 2000 when ThoughtTreasure was about the best of tthe AIs. I am sure there are better ones now, but I no longer have time to tinker.
