Is there an anime with a giant robot war?
Anyone know of an anime with a war fought with giant robots? Any suggestions?
Yeah, that’s a lot of the one’s that I’ve heard of. I’m really asking this question for a friend. They’re not into anime that much but asked me about it. I didn’t really know much about giant robot wars. I guess they were in the mood for robo-smashin’. :p
Side note: Fullmetal Alchemist has nothing to do with giant robots…at all. -_-’

The most well known? Gundam? I’m sorry but Being in my mid 30’s I’m pretty sure Robotech started the whole robot anime genre.
There are actually quite a few. The most well known would be the Gundam series, of which there are several, and Neon Genesis Evangelion.

I don’t think there is a Anime about it. Most Animes I know of don’t have any robots. But there is a show called Transformers that is shown on Cartoonnetwork. It could really work too.

What I suggest from the gundam series are:
Gundam 00 and Second Season (The most recent one)
G-Gundam (pretty cool, I loved it: tournament)
Gundam Seed and Gundam Seed Destiny (I didn’t like the character design too much, but still pretty good)

Code Geass I would say. Technically there not robots, there exo-skeletons (guys operating inside). But there are a lot of them, there is hardly any fighting not done inside. Plus, the shows story is incredible. I recommend highly.
Uhh, like every gundam ever created?
My personal favorite is Gundam 008th MS Team.
Another good one that is not always fought with giant robots but close enough is Samurai 7, which is the anime based on Kurosawa’s masterpiecer, Seven Samurai. Nice futuristic twist to it.
Gun X Sword is another one of my favorites. It’s kinda cheesy at times (and I mean waaay cheesy), but it’s funny and has great action sequences. Wake up… DANN!
Ever seen Shin Getta Robo Armaggedon OVA’s. Mazinkaiser. Vandread. Super Robot Wars OG(Original Generation).Almost forgot about Giant Robo.These are old animes don’t know if you guys are familliar with them but they are some of the best. I didn’t add the Gundams because I know most would say Gundam this or that and I was right.
