Best Way To Open Plastic Casing On Toys & Small Items?

What do you think it the easiest way to open that really hard plastic casing on toys, small electronics, flashlights and things? Scissors and knives are awkward, and I’ve seen a few sophisticated gadgets out there but most don’t work so well. What do you use, what works for you?
